How a Cat? For the past 20 years I have created hundreds of teddy bear and animal designs, in both clay and soft sculpture. Cats have very elusive personalities and are endlessly fascinating. I wanted to capture these qualities in my work. I start each animal by doing multiple sketches. Then I create a clay sculpture. From the sculpture I take a basic pattern. The individual "spirit" comes out in the needlesculpting and color shading of the features.
